Tanja Tzarovska is a singer, song-writer and composer. Macedonian by birth, she now has homes in the UK and Macedonia. She’s described by her fans as “the girl with the angelic voice”, but she also writes original, beautifully crafted songs in English as well as singing traditional songs in her own language, specialising in Balkan and Byzantine harmonic styles.

Her voice and arrangements can be heard in the Academy award-winning score by composer James Horner (‘Avatar’, ‘Titanic’) for Wolfgang Petersen’s ‘Troy’, including the end titles duet with Josh Groban (produced by the legendary David Foster) and in the original score by the Academy award-winning composer Gabriel Yared (‘The English Patient’) for ‘Troy’, for which she also coached and led the choir. She was the featured vocalist in Academy award-nominee John Debney’s score for Mel Gibson’s ‘The Passion of the Christ’ and also collaborated with the same composer on his soundtrack for Sony Playstation’s ‘Lair’.

She appeared in ‘One Giant Leap’, the groundbreaking music/philosophy documentary film by Jamie Catto (Faithless) and Duncan Bridgeman. Tanja has recently contributed vocals to the score for director Milcho Manchevski’s latest film ‘Mothers’ as well as Microsoft’s Bafta award-winning computer game ‘Fable III’. She has recorded in many of the major film scoring studios, including Abbey Road and Air Lyndhurst in London and TODD.A.O. in Los Angeles.

As a singer, Tanja has worked and performed with Zohar, the group led by composer Erran Baron Cohen.

In her song-writing Tanja often combines Macedonian traditional melodies with her original contemporary English lyrics. She has just completed ‘No Record Of Wrong’ her first album of original songs and covers, to be released in the UK in February 2011.

Track Name: Home
It's time I took my suitcase out this town
I tried, I failed to settle down
Ah well, I gotta try harder
Next time around

I forget 'bout the tears
I wanted to cry out
Once I hit the open road
I found myself
Singing out loud

Cause I'm a traveller
I travel with time
I'm a traveller
I'm never and always on time
Traveller, so I'm leaving this station
My final destination
Seems to be the

Open road
From inside this car
You feel like the drug
I've travelled to find
You give more and more
Open road
You can take me far
I understand now
You could be the home
I've been looking for
I've been longing for

I forget 'bout the tears
I wanted to cry out
Once I hit the open road
I found myself
Singing out loud
(Travel so far away from my sorrow, road take me far)

Open road
From inside this car
You feel like the drug
I've travelled to find
You give more and more
Open road
You can take me far
I understand now
You could be the home
I've been looking for
I've been longing for

Track Name: Northern Star
No matter how unpredictable
Is this sea I'm sailing on
I never fear
It's the thought of you being there
That comforts me

The places I find myself at
Are many
So I get lost frequently
But I shed no tears
Cause I know you're there for me

Northern star
What would I do without you
Northern star where would I go without you

Even when the clouds
Have you for the night
and I can't see you so well
I take a break
Cause I know the clouds aren't here to stay

So I wait cause I know
that when the sky clears again
you'll appear
and then I'll know my way

Northern star
Where would I go without you
Northern star

Track Name: Down
I mistook the sound of rain
For a sound of fire
I never realized before
That they sound so alike

You left your funny hat behind
But I didn’t laugh no more
But neither did I cry at your old
“I love you” note on the door

‘Cause I guess I’m down with love
I’m down with love

“For love is patient love is kind
Doesn’t envy, has no pride
It keeps no record of wrong”
‘Cause love is strong

I lost my patience before my pride
I seem to ‘ve done more wrong than right
I lost my faith in being kind
When I lost my mind

So that’s why I’m down
With love
I’m down
With love

For love is dated, love is dull
‘Cause love times love equals null
It’s far too frightening, far too powerful

Hey love could be the devil himself
It traps you in, then gives no help
It fails to deliver, all you get
Is a fever, and you burn down

With love
I’m down with love
I’m down with love
I’m down with love

I mistook the sound of rain for a sound of fire
I never realized before that they sound so alike

Track Name: Fixed
My ship was sinking I was going down
Could someone fix it before I drowned
Every time it seemed like I found the one
I found my self just hitting the ground

Did I feel like crying then, like crying
but I feel like flying now, like flying

And so I thought I have to hit back
I caught the bottle and strangled its neck
A pain free way to spend a day
Somebody save me I'm wasting away

And did I feel like crying then, like crying
but I feel like flying now, like flying

Now take these pills my doctor said
They'll help you get detached from your bed
but all they did is send me to sleep
Still when awake all I could do was weep
Oh yeah

(Did I feel like crying then, like crying
but I feel like flying now, like flying)

He fell on me like a desert rain
I told the doc I'm no longer in pain
and to my pills I said goodbye
My baby's all I need to get high

Did I feel like crying then, like crying
but I feel like flying now, like flying

And did I feel like dying then, like dying
but I feel like flying now, like flying

Track Name: Juliet 08
I don't know what to do
So I light up a cigarette
As dated as I get
In 2008

Ooh, someone's mistaken me for Juliet
Ooh, somebody pass another cigarette

I don't know what to say
So I drink the last sip of my wine
Can we carry on this talk
In 2009

Ooh, where is the door I need some air
Ooh, where is the door to nowhere

Miss fortune-teller
Said our stellar ways are switching fates
In 2028
About two decades too late

So let us save our
Precious time that's costing us a fortune
Got to go
Go out through that door

A shadow of myself
instructed me to use my head
And leave my heart

It seems unfortunate
The two will never part

Ooh, where is the door I need some air
Ooh, where is the door to nowhere
Ooh, someone's mistaken me for Juliet
Ooh, I said she isn't real but still so sad

Too bad
Too bad
Too bad...

Track Name: Heart Pendant
Hello, how are you I
'm sorry to bother you
But I was wondering
If maybe you found
The other half
Of my heart shaped pendant

It's been missing since I last saw you
Just before I left to start anew
Been looking everywhere
Couldn't find it nowhere

So I thought
I may have dropped it at your place
I know it's been a while
But I'm checking just in case

I found similar ones
But they weren't the real thing
So I thought that if you've found it
I can just stop searching

And if you haven't seen it so far
It might still turn up
So if it does just let me know
And I'll come and get it
But don't send it in the post
Cause it may get lost

You know...it was a special one
The other half
The other half
Have you found the other half
Of my heart shaped pendant

Track Name: Way To Blue
Don't you have a word to show what may be done

Have you never heard a way to find the sun

Tell me all that you may know

Show me what you have to show

Won't you come and say

If you know the way to blue?

Have you seen the land living by the breeze

Can you understand a light among the trees

Tell me all that you may know

Show me what you have to show

Tell us all today

If you know the way to blue?

Look through time and find your rhyme

Tell us what you find

We will wait at your gate

Hoping like the blind
Can you now recall all that you have known?

Will you never fall
When the light has flown?

Tell me all that you may know

Show me what you have to show

Won't you come and say

If you know the way to blue?

Track Name: Queen Of Clean
Look into my eyes once more
Something that you've missed to see
Through my fence of innocence
I am the queen
Of all things clean
Still have plenty of supplies
Of confidence

Surely you should go
You've got the place wrong
All my smiles are real
So don't you ask why I've got
So few
If you're after someone
Who can complete the missing piece
Of your puzzle of deceipt

Turn away
I've already been there
I've none of my newfound sense to spare

La la la la...

I tried to change my past in the past
But my time machine just failed to start
So I am sticking with my revolution
For a good day
And all my guns now live
At the bottom of the river
And my scars are here
To keep at bay another judgement day

So turn away
I've already been there
I've none of my newfound sense to spare

La la la la...
Track Name: In The First Row
I got stuck in the underground
At ten this morning
No one was happy but what can be done
Still the guy next to me
Didn't stop moaning, he could no longer wait
The train was making him late
He said he's got to be in Leicester Square
Latest by eleven
Because tonight there's a movie premiere
It's starting at seven
So he said

I'm gonna be in the first row
I'm gonna be in the first row
I'm gonna stand in the first row

He said he knows all celebrities
He'd even met some
And once he even had a chance to touch
A Cheeky Girl's bum
He was proud to once have spent his last twenty pounds
On a cab to the Ivy
So he could get there on time to see
Victoria Beckam arriving

Then he went quiet for a moment
And I almost said something, I almost did

But just right then the train made a move again
And a minute later we were outside the station and it started to rain
And he didn't complain about the cold, no
Only relief and elation, he was finally there
He even brought a little chair
In the first row

I'm gonna be in the first row
I'm gonna be in the first row
I'm always there in the first row

I'm gonna be in the first row
I'm always there in the first row
I always stand in the first row

Well, what I wanted to say to him is "Hey, you need to get real"
But I know that anyway he will
Sooner or later he will

Track Name: Lover Come Back To Me
The sky was blue
And high above

The moon was new

And so was love

This eager heart of mine was singing

Lover where can you be

You came at last
Love had its day

That day is past

Youve gone away

This aching heart of mine is singing

Lover come back to me

When I remember every little thing

You used to do
Im so lonely

Every road I walk along
I walk along with you

No wonder I am lonely

The sky is blue

The night is cold

The moon is new

But love is old

And while I'm waiting here

This heart of mine is singing

Lover come back to me

When I remember every little thing

You used to do
I'm so lonely

Every road I walk along
I walk along with you

No wonder I am lonely

The sky is blue

The night is cold

The moon is new

But love is old

And while Im waiting here

This lonely heart is singing

Lover come back to me

Track Name: Suzanne
Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river
You can hear the boats go by
You can spend the night beside her
And you know that she's half crazy
But that's why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges
That come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her
That you have no love to give her
Then she gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer

That you've always been her lover

And you want to travel with her

And you want to travel blind

And you know that she will trust you

For you've touched her perfect body with your mind.

And Jesus was a sailor

When he walked upon the water

And he spent a long time watching

From his lonely wooden tower

And when he knew for certain

Only drowning men could see him

He said "All men will be sailors then

Until the sea shall free them"

But he himself was broken

Long before the sky would open

Forsaken, almost human

He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone

And you want to travel with him

And you want to travel blind

And you think maybe you'll trust him

For he's touched your perfect body with his mind.

Now Suzanne takes your hand

And she leads you to the river

She is wearing rags and feathers

From Salvation Army counters

And the sun pours down like honey

On our lady of the harbour

And she shows you where to look

Among the garbage and the flowers

There are heroes in the seaweed

There are children in the morning

They are leaning out for love

And they will lean that way forever

While Suzanne holds the mirror

And you want to travel with her

And you want to travel blind

And you know that you can trust her

For she's touched your perfect body with her mind.

Track Name: Smile
Stand by me for always
Stand by me for sometimes
Seal your letter with a kiss
and send it with the sunrise
Think of me when you have some time
Think of me when you cry
By the way remember my name
Maybe you can just try

Look away my ex-love
Forgotten all now
Promised I will never show you
where my heavy heart drowned
Think of you when I have no time
Think of you when I cry
Still I can remember your name
even though I don't try

(Oh, do you believe in love, does love believe in you)

Oh, isn't it a pity
That love has ceased to believe in you and me
Still strangers I meet make me wonder
How far these feet have to run
until I get to the place
where my heart feels a trace
of that smile that came
exclusively with seeing your face
